ID Alert: Who was affected

The University believes that the compromised computers contained names and at least one personal identifier (such as a Social Security number or driver’s license number) for approximately 380,000 people, including:
  • 178,000 current and former UCSD students
  • 198,000 people who applied for admission but never enrolled
  • 2,400 current and former UCSD faculty
  • 1,400 current and former UCSD staff

The University is attempting to find current addresses for all people affected. We began sending letters to affected individuals on May 5, and will continue mailing them over the next few weeks.

E-mail idalert@ucsd.edu or call (866) 890-5560 if you:
  • Received a letter and have a specific question
  • Have not received a letter within two weeks but are concerned that you may have been affected
